Welcome to Aura Yacht Charter & Yacht Management - Turkey - Bodrum

Sailing from our base at Yalikavak near Bodrum, you will experience the most beautiful cruising grounds in the Mediterranean .

Suggested sailing Routes - Golf of Gokova, North of Bodrum

Day 1: Embark at Port Bodrum Marina.

Day 2: To Gümüsluk, 5 miles from Yalikavak. Keep close to the small islet on the right of the entrance as the other side has an ancient underwater wall. Anchor in the middle or north end of the bay where the depth is about 10 - 14 metres. There is plenty of choice but Balikci restaurant has very nice shrimps and fish, whilst the popular Bati restaurant specialises in hot-pots and traditional breads baked in a stone oven. The setting is very beautiful.

Day 3: Iasos, also called Asin Liman. A nice cross-downwind sail of 23 miles. On entering the harbour stay close to the Byzantine tower on the East side of the entrance as the other side has a big underwater wall. You can moor to the town quay. Visit the ruins of ancient Iassos - agora, temple and newly restored Mausoleum. Good shopping and Deniz restaurant sometimes has live music from the waiter himself.

Day 4: Kazikli, 17 miles. You can moor at the jetty of the Kaptan restaurant in the head of the bay. Kaptan Ibrahim has a bus to visit the impressive ruins of ancient Didym. Didym can also be visited from Altinkum which is nearer but a very noisy anchorage because of many bars and restaurants ashore with loud music, but fun for some.

Day 5: South to Kucuk Farelia. Near to the resort of Gundogan, this little bay has a couple of restaurants ashore. Anchor behind the rocky headland and take a line to the shore for added security.

Day 6: Akyarlar. A small village that has developed into a popular Turkish resort. As such, you are guaranteed good food for reasonable prices. The harbour is usually too busy and is difficult at the best of times. Anchor just outside the harbour and take the dinghy to quay. There is a good choice of restaurants around the harbour.

Day 7: Back to Port Bodrum, 8 miles. You can fill up diesel at the blue tanker boat just outside the harbour. When you enter the harbour call Bodrum Marina on channel 73 to help you with your mooring line
